Summer Camp 2010: Our students are given the opportunity to develop wonderful memories of summer through our Summer Leadership Program. Held each July at The Jesuit Retreat Center of the Sierra in Applegate, California, our boys and girls escape the city to enjoy ten days of life outdoors in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. Mentored by college and high school counselors, and guided by school officials, the students fill their day with a full schedule of activities that enhance them mentally, physically, socially and spiritually. Each day begins with Fitness Club, a 40 minute routine of calisthenics and jogging. There are three periods of academics ensuring that the students sustain the academic gains of the school year. The students participate in activity periods such as horseback riding, soccer, arts and crafts, sports and their favorite- swimming or for many, learning to swim. The outdoor activities are exhilarating and encourage physical growth, teamwork and achieving new personal goals. Students are guided through reflection periods in small groups.
