Sacred Heart Nativity School Development Director

Position Summary
The Development Director reports directly to the President and oversees the school's development affairs and assists in various business affairs. The Development Director is responsible for working with the Development Committee of the Board of Directors to raise money for the operations and endowment of the school. The Development Director serves to help the President with long-term strategic thinking and assists in development of the financial resources necessary to the school's continued functioning.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Assists President in managing Sacred Heart Nativity School's ongoing development and business affairs, including, among other tasks:
- Identify resources and donors.
- Work with Grant writer to Prepare Grant Proposals for Foundations.
- Serve on Development Committee from Board of Directors.
- Assist in preparing budgets.
- Assist in volunteer management.
Assist the President and Board of Trustees with long-term strategic thinking, including resource development, budgeting, and business planning. Provide project management assistance where appropriate (e.g. evaluation process, hiring processes, etc.)
Oversee the maintenance of the school's donor data base, the recognition of donors
Plan and implement Sacred Heart Nativity School's fundraising and friend-raising events, most notably the annual Fiesta Dinner/Auction
Oversee the production of the school printed publications and website.
Work with President and Principal to meet facility and equipment need necessary for the proper functioning of Sacred Heart Nativity School's academic and extra-curricular programs. Maintain an ongoing "needs list" and "project budgets" for various funding needs within the School.
Assist President and Principal in maintaining a Catholic, Jesuit environment that retains employees and promotes excellence in all of its programs.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years in non-profit management, volunteer or educational administration experience ideal.
- Possess or be working toward an appropriate degree or certification in the areas of non-profit management, business administration or fund-raising.
