I am humbled and honored to serve as Director of the Work here at Sacred Heart Nativity Schools. I am surrounded by first-generation college bound, low-income students who are workers in the vineyard alongside their parents, staff, volunteers, donors and our board.

Although our students struggle daily to overcome obstacles that their families face, we encourage them to dream and grow – to believe in themselves and imagine a future filled with opportunity.

Sacred Heart Nativity Schools provides the opportunity for our students to envision a future that includes college preparatory high school, college and university study, followed by a successful career that is life-giving.  Every day our schools lay a foundation for our students to be men and women for others – every class period brings our students one step closer to breaking the cycle of poverty through education.

Sacred Heart Nativity Schools was founded in 2001 in order to provide a transformative education to low-income youth in San Jose. Fr. Mateo Sheedy’s dream and Fr. Peter Pabst’s legacy live on each day in our hallways and classrooms, and their efforts are carried within the hearts of our students and alumni as they continue their education at local high schools, colleges, and universities.

This mission has transformed more than just our students; it has transformed our entire community. From the Founding Circle of benefactors who helped open the school in 2001 to all of our current supporters, the labor of love to the schools continues to give life to our mission.
